Travel Favorites: Big city vibes (Metropolis)

Do you get tongue tide like me, when people ask you for your favorite travel destination? Personally, I find it impossible to pick just one. I have been privileged to visit so many amazing places and honestly can appreciate every single one for different reasons. Food, architecture, history, uniqueness, culture, people… I can think of countless reason to fall in love with a city or country.

With that in mind, I thought of shedding some light on my travel favorites based on different categories. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Favorite metropolis: London (UK)

When it comes to cities, I personally love London. Amazing architecture, great food, lovely museums, smooth public transportation, fascinating markets… What’s not to love? I was 14 when I first visited and have the opportunity to come back 6 more times. To me, it has this great big city vibe without getting overwhelming and it has a perfect mix of different things to explore, depending on your interests and budget. Aside from the major tourist sights, I was able to see something completely new every single time and still I feel like I have only scratched the surface.

How about you?
What is your favorite city?

  1. I’m glad that you like London, my hometown, which I think is wonderful to visit. As you say, there’s always some new discovery around the corner. From my travels, Tokyo is a city that perhaps left the greatest impression. I had an amazing time there and the city itself is a vibrant mix of distinct neighborhoods. The food is something else. Plus temples, parks, museums, fresh markets, etc.

  2. I was honestly disappointed with London when I visited during the winter of 2015. It was due to the timing of things, as I gave myself only two days to visit, the euro/pound exchange rate was abysmal, and the sun set by 16h00. I’ll have to give it another chance someday, but otherwise, my metropolitan love for Paris and Los Angeles knows no boundaries (but I’m biased)! 😉

  3. You know, we always love it when we see people from other countries expressing a love for London. Despite the fact we only live just over an hour away, we still absolutely love being in London ourselves, it is truly a great city. Even now we still get that buzz every time we go – which, pre-COVID, was very regularly!

  4. I also love London ..I was born there, but you have to know where to go as all the districts have their own personality
The question where in London do you like best ..I can’t decide that 🤔
