Do you get tongue tide like me, when people ask you for your favorite travel destination? Personally, I find it impossible to pick just one. I have been privileged to visit so many amazing places and honestly can appreciate every single one for different reasons. Food, architecture, history, uniqueness, culture, people… I can think of countless reason to fall in love with a city or country.
With that in mind, I thought of shedding some light on my travel favorites based on different categories. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Favorite Beaches: Maui, Hawaii (USA)
My favorite beaches are scattered across the Maui. Whether you want to swim, snorkel, dive, surf or just sunbath… there is a perfect beach for you somewhere on the Hawaiian island.
My personal favorites are Maluaka Beach and Makena Beach on the west coast. The sand on both is white, soft and fine, there is some greenery in the outskirts which makes for a lovely tropical backdrop, the water is perfect to just glide in without much need for adjusting to the temperature and the sea is calm enough to not have to worry to be overwhelmed by any big waves. Maluaka additionally has clean public restrooms and showers, so you can have some luxurious beach time, freshen up and go about your day. Also make sure to organize yourself some snorkeling equipment to enjoy the corals and underwater life close to shore.
How about you?
Which travel destination has your favorite beach?

Ironically, I’m not a huge beach-goer despite growing up in Los Angeles and being literally 10 minutes from the beach…but I do appreciate its natural, almost-therapeutic beauty that draws people to its shores. It’s wonderful you’ve gone to Hawaii; I’ve never been! Some of my favorite beaches would definitely have to be the ones in LA (although I’m biased), but those in Normandy, France and Vik, Iceland, come close!

I understand that, I think the beach is especially magnetic for people that don’t grow up close to one 😉 Do you have a favorite in L.A.?

They look wonderful, we have an invite to visit Maui so perhaps we should take it up! We have stayed near some wonderful beaches around the world but we are going to say that Puerto Escondido had it all! 7 beaches, 3 of them within easy walking distance from where we stayed and all very different depending on your mood. Long stretches of sand at Zicatella with enormous waves Carrizalillo bay was calmer and another bay moderate waves for fun plus the town beach which was lively, it really had it all 😁

It seems to me that such places cannot be disliked … The sun, the beach, the cooling water that you can plunge into – this is the perfect vacation!

Beaches are my fave! Nothing beats the sunshine and the salt water. I prefer the Florida panhandle area when I visit the beach, but that’s only due to the convenience as I can easily drive there. 🙂
P.S. I’ve tagged you in my latest blog post. Just FYI, no pressure. 🙂
