For Thanksgiving this year, our friend surprised us with a special treat: He brought a small selection of mini cheesecakes from Eileen’s Special Cheesecake.
I did not have high expectations, I am not the greatest cheesecake enthusiast to begin with. But the first bite changed my mind and knocked Junior’s cheesecake off my personal 1st place.
Eileen’s cheesecakes are just so light and super creamy and the different flavors are delightful and perfectly balanced. I was so taken that I actually went to their Lower Manhattan location and got 6 flavors for my love and myself to test through.
They have medium and full size cheesecakes, nevertheless I opted for their mini cheesecakes ($5 per piece) to get a full variety to try. That day, I picked up Raspberry, Strawberry, Mango, Salted Caramel, Pumpkin and Red Velvet. Additionally, our friend had brought Chocolate and Cookies’n’Cream for us to try.
All flavors were delicious. If had to pick my favorite so far, I would have to go with the following ranking:
The Chocolate cheesecake tasted like a perfect blend of cheesecake and chocolate mousse, which I loved. Mango on the other hand was perfectly fruity and fresh. The only flavor that I would not order again was Red Velvet, but that can be attributed to me being underwhelmed by Red Velvet flavors in general. Every single one of the other flavors was lovely and a hit in my book.
